UAT in the 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence Awards Presentation Ceremony

(4 May 2018, Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) is an annual award which aims to encourage organizations to implement environmental management and to recognize organizations with excellent performance on environmental management. The award has been recognised by the community as one of the most prestigious and reputable award schemes in Hong Kong. UAT is grateful to receive the “Outstanding Green Leadership Award” and “Certificate of Merit of SMEs in Servicing Industry”.

The Presentation Ceremony was successfully held on 4 May 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. UAT was glad to interact with winning organisations and guests from different sectors. The “Outstanding Green Leadership Award” was first introduced this year to praise the companies that demonstrating great performance in green leadership. UAT is one of the ten recipients of this award.

The Ceremony was graced by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, Secretary for the Environment, the Honourable Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, the Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), Mr Lam Chiu-ying, SBS, the Chairman of Environment and Conservation Fund Committee, Mr Douglas Woo, JP, the Vice-chairman of the ECC, Mr Hui Yung-chung, BBS, JP, the Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE, Mr Ho On-sing, Thomas, JP, the Convenor of the Education Working Group under the ECC, Ms Sylvia Chan, and the Permanent Secretary for the Environment/Director of Environmental Protection, Mr Donald Tong, JP.

Environmental protection is now a pressing worldwide issue. The accreditation of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System provides UAT a guideline to commit to protecting the environment and ensuring that all potential impacts are identified and managed in a responsible manner. Employees strictly follow internal processes such as energy conservation, air emissions and pollution control, waste management, green purchasing, and environmental training and activity to work towards a green, sustainable workplace together.
