UAT is praised the Bronze Award of Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence 2015

(1 May 2016, Hong Kong) In line with the Government's mission and to cater for the need of the community, the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) aims to encourage businesses and organisations to adopt green management and green innovations, as well as to present them with an opportunity to benchmark their commitment towards environmental excellence. UAT is grateful to receive the Bronze Award of SMEs - Servicing Industry in this year.

The Presentation Ceremony for 2015 HKAEE was successfully organized at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday, 19 April 2016. UAT was glad to interact with a total of 184 winning organisations and nearly 700 guests from different sectors. UAT, together with 55 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards winning organisations, their green achievements were shown on the LCD display kiosks.

The Ceremony was graced by Mr. Wong Kam Sing, JP, Secretary for the Environment; Mr. Lam Chiu Ying, SBS, Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee; Dr. Joseph Lee, GBS, JP, Chairman of Environment and Conservation Fund Committee; Mr. Ho On Sing, Thomas, JP, Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE and Ms. Wong Sean Yee, Anissa, JP, Permanent Secretary for the Environment/Director of Environmental Protection.

During the Ceremony, the profound impact and urgency in combating the climate change were introduced. Mr. Tony Cheung, General Manager of UAT, said, 'Abnormal climate is impacting the sustainability of the Earth and eventually the sustainability of individual corporations. To protect our environment is critical to the continued wellbeing of our economy and community.'

Since the accreditation of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, UAT has implemented the procedure to ensure that all potential impacts of operations on the environment are identified and managed in a responsible manner. Employees strictly follow internal processes such as energy conservation, air emissions and pollution control, waste management, green purchasing, and environmental training and activity to work towards a green, sustainable workplace together.
