Praised in the 5th Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards Presentation Ceremony

(Hong Kong, 6 January 2015) Fifty-one companies, corporate volunteer teams and social enterprises with outstanding achievements in implementing and promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) were recognized at the 5th Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards Presentation Ceremony at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, 17 December 2014. In this year, UAT is glad to achieve the Bronze Award in the SME Category and Corporate Citizen Continuous Advancement Award.

Mr. Tsang Tak-sing, Secretary for Home Affairs of the HKSAR Government, was the Guest-of-Honour at the ceremony. Other officiating guests included Dr. Clement Chen, Chairman of HKPC; Dr. Joseph Lee, Chairman of CPCE; Mr. Rocky Cheng, Deputy General Manager of Information Technology Department of BOCHK, and Mrs. Agnes Mak, Executive Director of HKPC.

This year, UAT has launched the Path to Adulthood: UAT Youth Cultivation Scheme to nurture our next generation. It upholds Children Holistic Development, Youth Career Guidance, University CSR Education, Mainland Education, and Donation, supporting 5 NGOs and 4 schools with diversified activities including sports training, environmental and cultural outreach, internship, career workshop, and university and China education.

UAT is one of the six companies which have been recognized under this program for three years or more received the inaugural Corporate Citizen Continuous Advancement Award. Since its founding, UAT is dedicated to corporate citizenship by implementing a series of CSR practices in caring employee, environment, and community, integrating citizenship concept into business operation and ultimately promoting the sustainable development of economy, society, and environment.
