Appointed as the Affiliate Member of Business Environment Council

(11 February 2015, Hong Kong) Since the achievement of Gold Winner Award in Community Engagement of HSBC Living Business Awards 2014, UAT is appointed as an Affiliate Member of Business Environment Council Limited in 2015, joining hands together on the journey of attaining environmental excellence.

Business Environment Council Limited (BEC) is an independent, charitable membership organization, established by the business sector in Hong Kong. Since its establishment in 1992, BEC has been at the forefront of promoting environmental excellence by advocating the uptake of clean technologies and practices which reduce waste, conserve resources, prevent pollution, and improve corporate environmental and social responsibility.

BEC Affiliate Members refer to non-government organizations, trade associations, and educational institutes that are dedicated in learning, sharing, or leading responsible business practices which balance economic, social, and environmental interests.

Throughout the years, UAT is committed to protecting the environment and the accreditation of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System provides us a guideline to ensure that all potential impacts of our operations on the environment are identified and managed in a responsible manner. The same principle also applies to internal processes and procedures including energy conservation, air emissions and pollution control, waste management, green purchasing, and environmental training and activity.
