UAT participates “Bye Bye Microbeads Charter” to support the enhancement of public awareness of ocean microplastics. When microbeads enter the marine environment, microbeads may enter the food chain if mistakenly consumed by marine organisms. Chemical substance adhered on the surface of microbeads may pose potential risks to the marine ecosystem and human health. Microbeads can be replaced by natural alternatives like coffee powder, sugar, sea salt, oat flakes, etc. Let us all do our part to protect the environment.
