UAT achieves the Gold Award of the 6th Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Program

(16 December 2015, Hong Kong) 50 companies, corporate volunteer teams, and social enterprises with outstanding achievements in implementing and promoting corporate social responsibility were recognized at The 6th Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards Presentation Ceremony. This year, UAT is pleased to receive the Gold Award of the SME category.

The awards presentation ceremony is a highlight of The 6th Hong Kong Corporate Citizenship Program organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), co-organized by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education (CPCE), and sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday, 15 December 2015.

Mr. Matthew Cheung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare of the HKSAR Government, was the Guest-of-Honour at the ceremony. Other officiating guests included Mr. Stanley Lau, SBS, MH, JP, Chairman of HKPC; Ms. Melissa Kaye PANG, MH, JP, Chairman of CPCE, Mr. Stephen Chan, AHKIB, General Manager of Business Optimization Centre, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited; and Mrs. Agnes Mak, MH, JP, Executive Director of HKPC.

This year, UAT is glad to attain the Gold Award of SME category and be one of the sharing guests at the ceremony with other Gold Award winners including Enterprise - Pfizer Inc.; Volunteer Team - NWS Volunteer Alliance; and Social Enterprise - ibakery X Social Enterprise of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

Mrs. Erica Ko, our Sustainability Manager, said, 'UAT is dedicated to the sustainability among employees, environment, and community for the sustainable company development.' She continued. 'Employee is our most important asset, apart from promoting work-life balance, occupational health and safety, and employee development, we incorporate CSR into the workplace for employees to reciprocate to the society with UAT in interacting with stakeholders in different perspectives.'

Throughout the years, UAT has established cohesive, penetrated relationships with NGOs in upholding CSR projects. By organizing voluntary activities in company skills and employees' interests including career planning in technology industry, sports training, and environment and cultural trips, corporate volunteerism has been built continually regarding its CSR vision – reciprocating to the society and sustainable stakeholders' relations with employees together.
