(29 July 2015, Hong Kong) Recently, the University of Hong Kong decided to re-construct Chong Yuet Ming Amenities Centre to a more modern, diversified hub for students' facilities including an auditorium, theatre hall, bank, supermarket, and canteen. The key element of the renewal project is to provide high quality and appropriate audio visual facilities to support teaching and learning.

Audio, visual, and central control systems have been completely deployed in the 3-floor auditorium. When it comes to audio, Meyer Sound's active line array loudspeakers, front-fill speakers, fold-back speakers, surround speakers, subwoofer, and audio processor have been utilized for the most ideal surround sound with angle tuning. A 380-inch projection screen and eight LCD displays are used for the thorough visual experience. The systems are flexible, simple to use and maintain with the true user-friendly AMX central control.

The renewal project came with its own challenges. The largest and most interesting challenge was the heavy but delicate audio visual equipment, for instance, the heavy 8-in-1 active line array loudspeaker weighted at 149.52kg (total 261kg with mounts and shelves) has been installed at the ceiling which is 7m high above the ground. Any mishandling would influence the overall audio performance.

To achieve the best audio quality, UAT conducted internal testing and tuning together with Meyer Sound, the audio partner with professional audio testing machine before onsite installation.

UAT carefully listens and adapts to every project modification according to customer requirement, actual project status and schedule, environment, and construction safety under the accreditation of OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It treasures to deliver consistent reliability in every module for a customer-appreciated complete-line of audio visual project.
