UAT in the Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Awards Presentation Ceremony 2016

On Monday, 27 February 2017, UAT has been awarded the Certificate of Merit in the Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Awards Presentation Ceremony 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, promoting smoke-free messages and smoking cessation to employees, customers, the general public and other stakeholders for a smoke-free Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH), partnering with nearly 50 major commerce chambers and associations in Hong Kong, organizes the Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Awards together with Occupational Safety and Health Council in 2016.

The ceremony was officiated by Prof. Sophia Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Food and Health of HKSAR Government, Dr. Cindy Lai, JP, Deputy Director of Health, Mr. Yiu-wah Chan, Acting Deputy Director of Broadcasting (Programmes), Ms. Bonnie Yau, Executive Director of Occupational Safety and Health Council, Professor Tai-hing Lam, Chair Professor of Community Medicine & Sir Robert Kotewall Professor in Public Health, School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong, Dr. Jeff Lee, Head of Tobacco Control Office, Department of Health, Prof. Patrick Wong, BBS, JP, Chairman of Quit-Winners Club, Prof. Samuel Wong, Head of Division of Family Medicine and Primary Healthcare, The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Mr. Antonio Kwong, MH, Chairman of COSH, Ms. Yolanda Ng, MH, Vice-chairman of COSH, Mr. Alex Fong and Mr. Albert Au, Smoke-free Ambassadors.

UAT is glad to be awarded the Certificate of Merit for its efforts in protecting the health of employees and the general public and fostering an all-win situation for employees, business sector and the society. Employees are the most important asset of UAT and they play a crucial part in the businesses' sustainability and success. Employee's health is one of the top priorities of us.

In the coming years, UAT will keep working on setting smoke-free guidelines and internal policies, organizing smoke-free activities and providing different smoking cessation services to encourage smokers to kick the habit.
