Friends of Hope Charity Walk aims to raise the awareness of the public on the importance of the education in Hong Kong and China. Majority volunteers are the Hong Kong police officers, retired and ex police officers. The fund-raising team has finished 100 kilometers walk and has raised more than $1 million.
The walk supports education programs of AIDS orphans in Hubei province. AIDS has created an explosion of orphans. These orphans do not have an opportunity to pursue an education. Many have dropped out of school because their remaining family members, if any, can no longer afford the fees.
UAT donated and sponsored the outfits to the fund-raising team. UAT hopes that the funding could help these children now and making them a social investment rather than a social burden. It helps to prevent the large-scale social tragedy of a generation of illiterate and destitute children.
This charitable event brings a community together to raise money to help children in need. UAT hopes the children can grow up with a sense of responsibility and desire to give back to their communities and others.
