The LCD screen, which measures 52.9-inches high by 93.9-inches wide (107.8 inches on the diagonal), features a black advanced super view full-spec HD LCD panel manufactured at Sharp's new Kameyama plant in Japan, which the company says is the first in the world to use eighth-generation glass substrates. According to Mike Troetii, president of marketing for Sharp, consumers are recognizing the superiorty of LCDs over other flat-panel technologies such as plasma and rear-projection technologies.
