Hong Kong (6 July 2009) - The Defense Management Journal 2009 Summer issue reveals NCSA has chosen Polycom TPX HD306 to create the Virtual Meeting Room capability. NCSA is part of the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Organization reporting to the North Atlantic Council. NCSA is the key provider of NATO's Network Enabling Capabilities. Wherever NATO deploys on operations or exercises, NCSA is there, providing communication and information systems (CIS) services in support of the mission.

The TPX HD306 includes three 60 inches Plasma screens to create life-size images installed in a wall credenza. There are also three HD VTC Codec's to provide a 720p HD signal to the distant end locations and these will be upgraded to 1080p within this year. The virtual meeting room feeling is further influenced by using similar designed rooms at each location to include wall paint, lighting, and even the same desk and chair furniture. With the inclusion of the HD Video Conferencing equipment from Polycom the overall look and feel is as if participants are in the same room.

By choosing Polycom TPX HD306, NCSA will have an increase in the level of communication between the two agencies, and a decrease in travel costs sine short meetings will be able to happen in real time without the need to be physically present at any one site. This will result in more availability of personnel due to decreased travel time, and better use of NCSA personnel's time thereby increasing the efficiency of the Headquarters.
